Record DFA 127 Battery Backup 

The DFA battery backup is a great upgrade, simple to install to an existing operator and comes with it's own housing.The battery unit has two functions to choose from as there is a n/o and n/c output on the board.

Option A - unit is connected to the door to signal it open ensuring continuous use upon mains failure. To turn battery backup on, just press the ON button once.

Option B - unit can be connected to other systems i.e. Building Management system, to hold the door open. To do this you must wire the relay on the battery unit to the SKK. This ensures that if the main does fail the battery will not only take over but will also close the relay triggering the DFA to stand open.

The DFA battery backup is only 160cm in size, so is small and tidy. It can be fitted as a standalone unit or in line with the operator.  If your project requires a sleeker look, you can also remove the end cap off the battery unit, cut 10mm off the backplate and the operator/battery unit will line up perfectly, with just a single thin black line down the centre of the two units. For a seamless look, a full length cover to fit over both the operator and battery unit is available to order separately.

There is a buzzer fitted to the board with adjustable volume for high/low/mute, to warn building owners when there is a mains failure to the unit.The unit comes complete with a pair of contacts which are there to disconnect the battery, if the power fails. If the doors are open when the contact is broken on the discharge switch, the doors will close to give a secondary override of the doors.
